VW T3 Westfalia

Around 1983 we bought a VW-T3 with Westfalia extension and pop-up roof at the end of the rental season at Rüfenacht in Oerlikon. A little later, we decide to take a one-year break. In this context, we are having a fixed high roof built onto the VW bus, which should provide a better living climate when traveling.

In April 1985, we shipped the VW ship from Emden to Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Our journey goes along the east coast up to Acadia National Park, then across the prairies into the Canadian Rockies and up to Alaska, including the west coast of the USA. National Parks of the Southwest – Mexico – Belize – Guatemala – Mexico – USA (Texas) and from there back to the East Coast. Return at the end of March 1986. Here are just a few pictures of our camper.
